It has been announced that Andrew Rosen will step down from his role as chief executive officer at Theory, the New York-based contemporary brand he co-founded in 1997 alongside Elie Tahari. Rosen will be succeeded by the brand’s current chief operating officer, Dinesh Tandon, but will continue to work with the business in an advising capacity. Since the founding of Theory, Rosen has cemented his status in the contemporary fashion market, selling his majority stake in the brand to Uniqlo’s parent company, Fast Retailing, in 2003. He then notably invested millions of dollars into emerging designers, including Rag & Bone and Proenza Schouler which, by 2012, gave Rosen a large portfolio of investments with a combined sales of US$300 million.
