The biggest fashion takeaways from street style at fashion month

Fashion month just wrapped up and keeping runway trends aside for a moment, let’s take a look at how the actual influencers in fashion styled themselves. It’s an unspoken rule in the industry: to wear a full look from a label is a clear sign of your lack of creativity. Don’t be sold on what you saw models strut down the runways in just yet. Instead, take your cues from the show outside the show and get cracking on the wardrobe updates you need instantly.

Snake print

Animal print is all the rage at the moment, but the new update to your coloured leopard is snake print. Wear it as an accent on your accessories or on larger surface area—an overcoat perhaps.

Co-ord sets

Is the key to a successful look going matchy-match with everything? Co-ord sets are a great way to look put together with minimal effort. Choose sharp tailoring for a formal getup or get playful with bold colours.

White

Does summer have you crushing on white? Get ready to play with textures, accents, layering and more when it comes to this soothing hue. While working this trend might need you to invest heavily in laundry, it’s worth the effort.

Gold

Jewellery this season is about impactful gold accents. A strong choker, a bold necklace, thick gold hoops—yellow metal is clearly the winner.

Halfway heel

The update on the shoe this season is neither too high nor flat. Add the slightest amount of height to your look with kitten heel, preferably in a pointed toe. A sub trend we spotted under the halfway heel is logo-dropping through shoes.

Bag lady

While it’s impossible to narrow down on one singular shape of a bag that stands out over the other, the only way to carry it is to wear it crossbody—whether they’re bumbags or structured purses.
